There are many ways to help keep your heart healthy. This February, during American Heart Month, we’ll be sharing just a few of them. To start: Exercise. While it may not be everyone’s favorite way to stay healthy, it is one that’s accessible for many on campus at the University of Georgia – there’s the Ramsey Center, intramural trails, and (of course) lots of hills. Heart health is a big deal! And not just for your parents – for UGA students too. While we celebrated American Heart Month in February, it’s important to keep a few things in mind throughout the year. So important, in fact, that President Obama issued a proclamation on January 30, 2015, aiming to raise awareness about high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke – the causes of one-third of the adult deaths in the United States.
